My Gryphon CTS is the same as the Edge Evolution CTS but custom tunable with PHP Tunes. Also instead of the programmer being silver like the Edge it's black. I would think the only difference in the Gryphon and Evo is the custom tunability through PHP.

I run an Airaid 401-231 and yes it can run lean with your canned tunes and cause damage, my invoice said the only canned tune he recommends to run with my intake is the 87 Tow (Level 2) on my CTS so that's what I'm doing until I get my custom tunes. I'm sure you can buy it somewhere else and have PHP tune it but then each tune is going to be $60 as opposed to $30 because they don't have to "crack" the programmer to make it a Gryphon. I would just get it from them for the same price, you're gonna wait for custom tunes anyway so might as well just wait for the programmer too.

I've heard good things about the Power Aid, I already run an Airaid CAI so I can image it's awesome, only problem is I didn't get my custom tunes built with that on my mods list so it would take even longer to get more tunes if I did that. What difference does an aftermarket MAF Sensor make? Mine seems to be doing fine with my Intake and I have a MAF display on my CTS showing the g/s that it reads, I probably wouldn't drop $75 on one until I notice a problem or something, and again the whole custom tunes thing.....

Yea you'll be fine that way just won't maximize your performance or get the most out of it, its all good though I'm in the same boat, well I'm running my canned 87 Tow but it's not doing much but giving more MPGs... not complaining about that though!
