315/70/17, same as the Raptor. 44 psi front/rear, same as it says on the Raptor door, from what I've been told.
Your coworker doesn't know what he's talking about. Why would anyone run max, let alone 10 psi over max, on an empty 1/2 ton truck?!?!?

I've got 275/60/20 I run at 40 psi.. my set is also d load so max I can put them at is 60 I would even go that high pending on load range because you have to keep in mind that driving on the roads the tires get hot and the air expands.. I would toy around with the pressure see with psi feel better to you mine are wearing just fine and rotate them with every oil change and usually I double check my alignment

I reached out to BFG and they suggested 45 for 275/55/20. I had them at 50 and at 45 the ride was a little better.

If this needs deleting, have at it. I posted this elsewhere but thought it would be of benefit (metadata) in this thread. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/tire-...2/#post6801244

Purchased a set of BFG 285/75R/17 K02s days ago. At max load, psi is indicated as 80 psi. E-rated, 10-ply tire. Tire shop inflated to 40. Seemed a tad low to me. Factory 265s are door "stickered" at 35 all the way around. Through some online and email BFG bureaucratic bs, I was able to establish comms with a human. Michelin owns BFG. It was a recent purchase in 1990 (lol). Didn't know that. She took down all the data I had twice submitted. After a thorough question/answer session, she too stated 40 psi. We both laughed after I told her that's what the tire shop had defaulted to. Very nice rep (female) up in Ottawa, Canada. I might go 50 in a bit but then again I might not. Doubtful but in a month or so I may try the ol' tried and true chalk test.

It is fine information, but tire pressure still depends on your truck and what you carry in it and what mods you have made. The chalk test to figure out your best tire pressure is still the best method and will get you the perfect pressure for best tire wear to ride ratio. You want enough pressure for even tire wear, anymore and you diminish ride quality.

Seriously. I still have a little more than half my tire life left on my nitto ridge grapplers and I have nearly 50,000 miles on them. I did it for when I am empty, and again when I have all my camping gear in the bed, and for when my trailer is hooked up and bed empty, and trailer and camping gear. I now know what to change my pressure to when I do each of these things.

Here are some examples of how to:

Whats the reasoning for the front being higher? I have a camper shell and keep about 250lbs of gear in the back. I was thinking front 45 and rear 50. I'm not worried about ride quality just maximizing fuel efficiency on highway. I haven't cranked it up that high yet, still getting opinions. Thanks.

Usually more weight on the front axle due to engine and transmission, etc being there. Do the chalk test to find your ideal pressure. Youtube has lots of videos on that.

I run 55/60 front and rear in my BFG KO2 LT245/75r17 LRE tires. That is the recommended number on the door sticker.

Unless you are running stock tire size with an equivalent style tire to stock, the door sticker doesn't mean a thing.
