WD-40 was a detailer's trick I learned years ago. just spray it on let it set for about 30 seconds then wash with a wash mit that has the bug scrub side on it and rinse the use some sort of wax.
If you use a good wax on the front of your vehicle most bugs will come right of without much effort.

I found a clay bar to work really well on the chrome grill and bumper parts for getting the bugs off. But I did spend about 3 hours claying the truck.
You can get different grades of clay bar from mild to agressive - just remember if you do clay anything, it will remove all previous protection (wax, sealant etc).
I love spending a whole day doing the wash, clay, polish, wax thing but I'm gonna try the hot wet rag trick though - sounds like a lot less effort.

BUGS B GONE Made by Seafoam works wonderful just spray it on and rinse it off. Works great on the black of the mirrors also. I carry a bottle and spray windshield while putting gas in and just use scrubber at station. Best stuff I have found!!
