Walmart sells a pack of clamps that use a key to tighten.

for the love of god, protect your tailgate like you would your nuts. ive seen so many guys at work with missing tailgates it's unreal. all of them stolen. hell, the owner of the company i work for had his tailgate stolen, and he was quoted several thousand by the dealer to replace it.

if yours does get stolen and you need a new one, you might be able to buy your old one off craigslist or at a swap meet.

Painted my front emblem with rusto tint. Then sanded off chrome. Then another light couple coats of rusto tint. Kind of a quick and cheap version of a vinyl overlay. I also installed lamin-x gunsmoke over the fogs, $15 on amazon. Oh and mirror reflectors are also rusto tinted, waiting on a warm day to do the turn signal mod.

Well since this is the "lest than 50 bucks" thread, I bought this from Amazon for $15.00 and it looks better and is more secure then a hose clamp.
