Hey guys I did the usb2 mod today, the usb2 mini w/female end was $2.49 on overstock.com. Got everything hooked up and it will play music from any of my devices but my hard drive. Does there need to be only music on the hard drive and if so what format. I downloaded almost all of my music on a seagate 232g hard drive but the usb2 doesn't recognize the device.
Also does anyone know a way to override the ability view video on an iPad while having it hooked up to sync? Sync will play the sound but blocks the video from being seen unless going directly thru Bluetooth.

Probably not enough power for a hard drive. Get a usb flash drive instead, you don't need 10000 hours of music anyway, lol!

Yeah your probably right. Just wished I could figure out the video part so the passenger can keep the iPad plugged in watching videos on the USB2 while on trips but if nothing else they can just Bluetooth and plug it in the AC outlet on the back of the console since I keep my iPhone plugged into the usb1
