How do those hold up to the weather? I saw them today at Harbor Freight and was going to pick them up.

So far no problem with mine, but they stay dry thanks to the cover. They are not impervious to stupidity however, as I learned when I forgot to turn them off and burned up 8 AAA batteries between the two switches 😆. My biggest challenge was finding adjesive Velcro that would hold up in cold weather. Finally found some, and all has been well since.

What type of Velcro did you use?

Velco Extreme Outdoor. It is advertised for all weather, and rough surfaces, holding up to 15 lbs. It is model 90800, five strips of 4" x 1". Im using one strip cut in half for each light. I just happened across it at Home Depot. I think there are versions of it that might even be better (wider).

I got this idea from another member who used a cell phone charger...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-DC-Conve.../323009757122?
I pulled the fuse for the rear defroster initially and missed the heated mirrors. I cut/capped the wires and used the button on the dash. I never knew if I turned the mirrors on or not so I bought the above converter. I cut my caps off and wired the blacks on the converter together and put an ring on it and grounded it. I then took the yellow wires and connected them together. I took the red and connected it to the trucks black wire.
Taped it all up and tested. Works great. I mounted it to my amp rack which is right there.
In it for less than $4.00
