Ok... So maybe I'm slow...
But what purpose do the straps on the back of a headrest serve?
Cant imagine they are sturdy enough to support someone using them to climb into the vehicle (straps would be... but the seat & strain of pulling at that angle?). They cant serve much use for holding onto if the driver is driving erratically...

I guess I just dont see the utility. Granted I dont dislike them and people can mode/ad appearance in anyform they want, but does it really serve any purpose other than looks?

So for you, they probably serve no purpose, for anyone who has a smaller frame, like a small woman or child, or even an older person who is not 100% physically stable, they're a second point of contact.

Two points of contact are better than one point of contact for embarking and stabilization when driving in a situation where the truck may violently lurch from one side to the other (4x4 comes to mind for me).

Daughter uses them all the time.
Getting in, Getting out, Pulling up to ask me something.
Wife uses them also when my Daughter wants to sit up front.

Somehow missed the rebate on Amazon. I need new glasses!

As for Summit, they have free shipping for anything over $99 (except large and heavy items requiring freight shipping) So you will have to get something else to get it.

Since I live right down the street from them, I usually stop by and pick it up.

My nephews use them when they get in the back and my better half pulls it through the gap to use it to get in the front. We are above average weight and there have been no issues with any sort of strain.
I could see an issue if you maybe had the headrest to it's highest point and then the strap was all the way at the top, but with the straps down low it's a good center.
