Was going to put these under the F150 Lariat symbol on the front quarter panels. What y'all think. I was going to remove the ecoboost symbol from the lower door. There just stuck on right (no holes). I'm undecided on wether to put something there or not.

They used to be made of steel. It's not the material that makes them bad it's the fact that they prevent the springs from compressing the way they were designed and cause extra stress to the spring. It's your truck though

Any suggestions on how to make a bracket for these? Does it get hot under the grille? is PVC a bad idea? Metal is the way to go here?

What have others used to mount these? ideas, suggestions?

Thx

I went to several hardware stores in the area but couldn't find any brackets I thought would work, so I ended up creating a custom bracket using a piece of acrylic I had left over from replacing a broken garage door insert. It's light, sturdy and easy to work with. The only disadvantage is it's a reflective surface so oncoming headlights would reflect off it in behind the grille - some black plastidip fixed that up real good though.

A metal bracket like the one in this kit would be ideal...

...but I already had the lights and wanted to at least see if I liked it before looking for another solution. I think I'll leave 'em now though - love the look.

I like this idea a lot. If you hard mount them I hope you post pictures of where exactly they ended up. I have a couple of thoughts of where I would like to put them in my rig

Bought the emblem off ebay: $30
Paint: ~$20
Primer and clear coat I already had so I think its appropriate

I decided to PTM the front emblem using the new 2014 emblem design, so much easier than the old one.

Default Radar detector mount

I got tired of the suction cups giving way on my radar detector and decided to build a mount for the rd. I used metal from an old flavorizing bar from a gas grill. I just had a hack saw and drill so there was a lot of trial and error going on. I knew I had to mount it to the sun visor inner mount so I worked that out first. After a lot of bending and filing I got it to extend to an area just above the left side of the rear view mirror which is perfect for me. I'll try to post a few pics.
