Do you know which vendor you ended up getting it from?

What is the fascination with the tailgate assist? Is it that hard to open the tailgate and let it down gently? What am I missing?

Makes it Easier when your hands are full! No worries about the tailgate slamming down. Or children opening it, and getting injured due to not being ready or able to control the drop of the tailgate!

Makes sense. I especially like the idea of kids not getting hurt. Got 2 little ones of my own. Do you put 1 on each side or you just need 1?

Mine was sold by and shipped directly from Amazon. I have Prime, so most everything I by on Amazon is sold by Amazon so I can get the free two day shipping. Their picture for the item shows the version with the foam piece, but they sent the better version.
