great idea in concept. its the same thing I have done on a few of my other vehicles. but on these trucks the factory air box is already a cold air intake by design (draws cool air from the fender well) so much so that even aftermarket CAI setups still use the factory air intake location, and most of them retain the factory lower air box. it really is that good. you have just added holes for engine compartment heat to be sucked into the air box. while you may actually gain mpg by this mod because warmer air = leaner mixture, leaner mix means possibly better mpg, in the end you probably did not gain anything and what you think you gains is most likely in your head because you have more noise when you slam on the gas.
throttle response on the bottom would have nothing to do with this mod anyway, because at a stop there is no air being forced into the airbox cold or warm, and with the heat soak from the engine compartment your just getting stagnant warm air from around the radiator.

Warmer air will make the mixture richer. Warm air has less oxygen which means there will be more fuel present.

Oxygen content has no bearing on how much fuel is used, that's varied in relation to air flow. Colder air has more oxygen which means a better burn, meaning more power and efficiency. That's why tunes are needed so you don't lean your engine out.

The ECU is constantly adjusting the amount of fuel delivered based on those and other sensors. In addition in closed loop the ECU will always aim for a fuel ratio of 14.7 to 1

It's been a while since I've seen the LED footwells pop up. Did them last weekend tied to two switches for front and rear. Also added the center console to the rear. Very happy with how they worked out.

I did bed lighting for around 30 dollars (LED Strips with switches were $15.00 each), and the lights in the rear for 32 dollars (napa had the lights and wiring for $27.00 and a toggel switch for $5.00)
