Best of luck with your new truck and I've found that service varies from dealership to dealer. I just traded a 2013 Cadillac CTS-V and previously had a GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Silverado as well; the local GM shop always took good care of me and only the Cadillac had 1 issue, so other visits were for routine work.
I like Dodge, Chevy/GMC, and Ford; just look for whatever features and design that I like best in a given model year and it happens to be Ford at the moment. The way people are giving you cr**, you'd think you had bought a Honda Ridgeline. I will not buy Asian (Japanese or Korean), regardless of assembly/stamping location. The Chevy/GMC is nice and I wish you many miles of happy driving!

We had a Tahoe that was nothing but problems as well. Luckily we had about 95% good experiences with the dealership we bought from and got service at. We won't talk about them blaming a bad fuel pump on an aftermarket iPod adapter

I can not blame you for going with GM considering Ford was unresponsive with taking care of the issue with their truck. Actually, I respect you for not accepting that level of service with your investment in a new truck.
My first 7 trucks have been GM before recently purchasing this used 2011 Ecoboost. All of my chevy trucks have been extremely reliable for me. It would have been a natural decision to buy a new Silverado this winter but I loved the features, look and feel of this truck. Plus towing capabilities!
I have the extended certified pre-owned warranty, If I do have issues and get the same response you did, I will switch right back. But fortunately, so far, no problems and I absolutely love this truck! More every week!

Guys after a long two weeks of constant problems with my eco and Ford's mediocre responses to those issues....I bought a new truck. I'm sure there will be issues but my experience with my 2005 Silverado SS was better than Ford's customer ....
I bought a 2014 Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab sporting the sport custom package.

My first brand new truck was a '98 Silverado 4x4 Extended Cab 5.7L V8. I was so happy with that truck, gave it to a cousin with 197,000 miles on it when I got my Ford. '11 F150XLT Super Crew 4x4 3.5L Ecoboost with 30,000 miles on it. Now that's a leap, can't believe what I've been missing all these years. Only problem I've had with the Ford is that center seat that folds down to be an arm rest. I took the seat out and I'm designing a new console for it, I'll let you know what it looks like when I'm done. The Chevy got 17.4mpg highway, Ford gets 18.6mpg highway and feels a lot more stable.
