Good Luck OP. i traded my 11 fx4 5.0 because i hated the thunk in my steering wheel. it was my DD and the more i drove it the more it bothered me. got pissed off and bought a 13 EB. mpg's blow, still get the 'thunk' in the steering wheel. mpgs blow, shifts like a first time manual driver, mpg's blow to top it off i have about an extra quart of oil (that smells like gas). i would love to go to the dark side but cannot do it. i will either dump this gas hog for a 15 5.0 or a 6.7 f250.
EB does have decent power though.
good luck. i think the new gmc's are really good looking trucks.

Now let us all take the next 10 pages to insult the OP on his purchase.
Let's dig through the whole internet to try and find reported issues with his new truck and post them in an effort to make ourselves feel superior with our choice in vehicles!
After all, our choice in vehicle is directly tied to our ego, we can't let him attack our ego! Let's all gang up and try and try to ruin his excitement over his new truck guys!!!
I apologize on behalf of some of the members here who have had their fragile egos damaged by your purchase OP.
Great looking truck, hope you have better luck with this one!

That's very original, I think you're the first one to point that out.

Wife's Tahoe has lots of issues too. AFM is consuming oil, electrical gremlines with the CAN bus, paint peeling, cracked dashboard... list goes on.... Grass is the same color on both sides. Issues aside, enjoy your new Silverado.

It was def different for Ford, plus Ford has the ability to sell off foreign car brands it held to help itself from gov't loans. On a side note, those Gov't loans are heavily taxed so not free money.
Besides that ALL car companies at one time or another receive gov't assistance. Toyota and Honda have it easy with no worries about pensions/retirement in Japan, Japan gov't covers medical, no UAW, as well as exchange rates that heavily favors Japanese car companies.
But at some point pensions will catch up to Toyota/Honda/Mazda in the US like they did for the Big 3 years ago.
As for Chevy. I have had Chevy trucks before and never had any serious issues. The interiors were horri-bad but much better now.
