No complaints about the cap, but the wiring job for the 12V and 3rd brake light was done kind of half assed for my taste.
The powerpoint wiring came with split loom, so that's not half bad, but they wired the ground right to the negative battery terminal. That's a no-no on the new gen trucks because the computers monitor battery draw with a sensor on the negative battery lead.
That was easily fixed by moving the ground to a nearby bolt. They also didn't fuse the power point wiring at the battery. The only fuse is at the power point itself. Again easily fixed in about 5 minutes.
They ran the wire for the 3rd brake light up the opposite side of the frame, just a bare wire, with no fuse at all.
I'm probably going to redo the whole wiring job myself in the spring....
They make ARE caps right by my house!! Great company! If you buy ARE your are buying a completely USA made product....they also take care of their employees the way you're supposed to!!
Just picked up a Used A.R.E. Z series cap for $200. Has key-less entry, side vent windows, fit the truck nice. I just need to paint it to match, wire third brake light and wire up led light strips for dome light. Thinking racks on the cap for the kayak as well.
