Best Leveling Kit & Tire Fitment - 2013 STX 4X4
 

New here. First F-150 I've owned, but after owning both a 2011 & 2013 Mustang GT I love the 5.0L V8.

Looking into leveling kits and I know this questions been asked a MILLION times.

I'm wanting the 2.5" Rough Country, I've looked at the Auto Spring & HBS as well. I've used Top Gun Customz before with no complaints. But.

I don't wanna do 2" and no be level so figure call it safe with the 2.5".

My question is, which is the best leveling kit out their? I know companies like Pro-Comp & RC are well known through out the 4X4 world. Never heard of HBS or AutoSpring until I looked into leveling kits for this truck.

2nd question is, I am DYING for Nitto Trail Grapplers. Looked and have found many people have success with 295/70R18 on the Factory 18" FX4/STX wheels so. But I know that measure just over 34"

So, can I do a 2.5" Leveling Kit and 295/70 Nitto TG Tires? Without rubbing? I don't mind going to a 285/65, but their wider than a 295/70

Any help is appreciated.

Lots of guys on here run HBS and Autospring, and I have never heard anything bad about either. Also, the 285/65/18 will be shorter and narrower than the 295/70/18. I had the 295/70/18 on my 09 4x4 with bilstein 5100s set at the highest setting and had zero rubbing so I would think you'll be fine with a 2.5 inch leveling kit.

295 is wider. That is your tread width in mm

I have the HBS 2 inch and it gave me close to 2 1/4 inches. I have 1/4 inc rake now. Sits perfect. I could run 295/70/18 I believe, but I am going for 275/70/18s for a 33 inch tire.

I'm running 275/70/18 on a stock fx4. They are taller than 285/65/18. With a 2.5" level the 285s will look way too small.

I fit 295 70 18 Trails with a 2" AS. I also added the 3" block to keep some rake as my truck only had 1 3/4 stock and would have been nose high. AS recommended me to stay 2" level as 2.5" was max with front end geometry. Very happy with results. I am running Dick Cepek Torque rims with a +20 mm offset and have zero rub with no trimming. I would think a factory rim would have no issue at all.

if you are set on the 2.5" lift, go with the AutoSpring with the offset spacer.

I just bought the auto spring kit 2 weeks ago. I went with the 2.5" front leveling spacers and 3" rear block. I want to keep my stock rims also. I'm torn between staying 33's or going 34's.

I plan to get the kit installed for now within the next month, or when my buddy has time to do it.

Is there any concern with drive shaft angles or any other components with this set up or is it harmless? Other than an alignment

The Offroad shop in my area said they prefer the BDS leveling kit over the top spacer only kits. The claim is that the BDS leveling (which requires the strut spring to be removed for installation) keeps the factory geometry much better than the top puck/spacer products. Obviously is costs more and installation takes more tools/time, but it's supposed to be easier on your ball joints and drive shafts over the long run.
