I've got 5000k HID heads and fogs and they're pretty damn white.

I had Silverstars briefly, better than stock. Ended up swapping to 55w 6000K Xenon bulbs off of eBay for about $85. Work great, cast a wide, even, and bright white light in the stock housing.

Usually around 5000K @ 35w, or about 6000K @ 55w. The higher wattage kind of washes the color out a little, or so I read/hear.

Used to import HIDs years ago before DOT wrote me a nasty letter. Pure white is 4200K. Anything above will start giving you a bluish tint. This is why almost all OEM stock HIDs are around 4200K. If memory serves (meaning I can be wrong), DOT rates anything above 4200K as colored as well and not legal even on OEM.

Above being said... I like the look of 6000K the most... just a slight tint of blue but barely noticeable.

Also... the brightest output is around 4200K (candle light rating). As above 4200K, due to the bluish tint, it actually gets darker or harder for the naked eye to see.

I added rigid d2 on the front and I was looking for bulbs to kind if match the white of the led. The stock are just too yellow.

It's debatable depending on the manufacturer... That's why I wrote "around". Some say 3900K... Others say 4100K or 4300K yet another may say 5000K. Most data Ive seen show around 4100K to 4300K as pure white... So I round off and wrote "around 4200K". Your not wrong... Just depends on the manufacturer.

BTW... Most HIDs will drop approx 10% in brightness/temp color within the first 10hrs of use unless its been burned in at the factory for approx 10hrs.... Which is unlikely. So... Your HIDs will drop a little in Kelvin temp. output. I've seen some manufacturers take this into account when rating temp color and others don't.
