Default Best exhaust for 5.4 3V under $400?

Hey y'all, anyone got any good exhausts that are still moderately quiet, about 2/5 or 3/5 on a loudness meter, but still has a nice little rumble that sounds better than the stock exhaust, but also won't interrupt or annoy anyone. I have a price range that $400 is the max I am willing to spend.

Since the exhaust system is (for the most part) 3" and stainless steel, would recommend just replacing the muffler (that is also stainless steel) for that "2/5 or 3/5 on a loudness meter" sound you're seeking.

Anything more than that would not be a performance and/or MPG improvement and a waste of $$$ unless you're going for under-body cosmetic bling.

This is what I currently have on my 2010. Nice cold start rumble and it is audible WOT but, drone is minimal if any.

I recently had a professional muffler shop install a Flowmaster super10 with dual rear outlets and it sounds very nice. It ran about $620. It's quite a loud start but the noise dies off as the vehicle warms up. Ford is known for having well insulated cabs that remove a lot of noise so with my rear facing exhaust, most of the noise is isolated outside.

My friend's 5.0 on the other hand has a super 44 with hidden dual exhaust tips and.... It's not quite as loud, probably not worth the money imo.

The shop I used is relatively steep with pricing, and I also chose black stainless steel powder coated exhaust tips.

In a way, the multiple cats provided on the 5.4 really work to your advantage by just swapping mufflers. You gain a lot of rumble and deep tone without a lot of crackling and cabin noise.

There’s a couple threads on here of guys with the 5.4 removing the muffler. Nice growl, no drone

Badlands electric exhaust cut out. Then you can have the quiet stock when you want and the loud dump when you want. Sounds amazing.
