BAK was here a couple of weeks ago doing vendor training and I asked them that same question. They said they use a high grade vinyl from a German manufacturer (same vinyl used on the roofs of Cadillacs).

I'm wondering the same things. I imagine the vinyl is as good as on most other soft tonneaus, most I've seen remain nice and black for a long time. But I just worry about creasing or cracking of the material in the hinges.

I really want a VP, but still waiting for a while to see how the reports come in, especially from northern states during the winter.

My thoughts are the same. I would think cold midwest winters would be rough on the vinyl.

My pops has the VP on his H3T and it has faded over the years.. BAK does recommend putting some uv protection on tho, and my dad never does. Im hoping my HD will hold up better with a lil TLC
