Default 2011 Remote start issue

2011 Lariat Platinum, if i start truck using the remote start i can use the remote to unlock the doors, the truck stays running. If i insert key and turn to run it dies i have to turn off and then restart it does this weather i put on the brake or not. I cant find any program option to change is there one?

My dealer told me it will only die if you press the brake first thats not the case

Any advise. I have searched the forums but it seems most info is for programming 2010 and earlier that die when you unlock the doors not turn the key

Thanks
Ed

I have an aftermarket one but im pretty sure they all die if you hit the brake. Does it do it every time? go show the dealer and make them fix it or give you a new one, cause it should not die if you turn the key on, are you sure you arent hitting the brake by accident?

Yes, I have tried specifically pressing the brake and not pressing the brake
It dies as soon as I turn the key, If I press the brake without the key inserted it dies as it should, If the key is in I can press the brake and it still runs but as soon as I turn the key it dies weather brake is pressed or not.

I expect it is a simple programming or Mykey Issue

could be, do you have any mykeys programmed? Try using your other key. Dealer should be able to fix.

Ed,
Per the OM, if you put the key in and turn it to run, the engine stays running and everything else starts working and you are good to go. That said, I never remember to turn it to run (second notch). I turn it to the first notch and it dies.

Could be the issue also, I just got the truck yesterday still figuring it all out.

It could be that the sensor for your key has moved and slipped a little out of place. So when you insert the key, it doesn't sense the right coded key, and shuts the ignition off. Have your dealership check that out...! Just sayin'...

I don't have this problem with the Raptor, but I did not program the Mykeys...Once this is done I believe you are toast....The dealers have a big issue with dissabling this. There are lots of threads on this. I'm not an expert on this but I think this is the case.
