Which battery for replacement
Well after 5 years and the cold temp my battery shows signs of failure coming. Slowness and dragging when starting is what I hear. Now my question (and I know answers will vary a lot) what brands have you had success with. I have looked at the yellow top optima or the Diehard plat. Has anyone had any success with these or something else?
I will research any answers given.
Oh yeah the truck is a 2010 XLT.

I have a red top optima. Advance also sales some dry cell batteries that look more like factory battery's. I have no experience with those but I have had a optima in every truck. I can't stand acid battery's.

I have been installing Interstate for the last 20 years at my shop. Since I have been in the auto industry(30 years) Interstate have been the most reliable battery on the Market
If you live where it gets real cold use their MTP series battery.
If you do not live where does not get cold and the MT series meets the specs for your vehicle use it.
The MT series is more reliable in hot weather and the MTP in extreme cold weather.
I sell about 4 to 7 batteries a week and warranty a battery about every 2 months
Stay away from Kirkland and Exide batteries. We see more catastrophic failures with these brands

Interstate or Odyssey
2013 XLT 5.0 and stock battery is not handling the 0F and colder temps up here in Canada. I have added Compustar security system, front and rear Blackvue dashcam, Alpine Amp and dual kicker subs and Amp Research powersteps are going on in the next week or so. I'm torn between an Odyssey Extreme or the Interstate MT7. I've sourced a dealer for the Odyssey and it's a bit cheaper than the Interstate which are hard to find up here. Napa AGM's are about the same price as the Interstate. Apparently we can't get DieHard Platinums in Canada so that is not an option. Any comments?

I have had good luck with Kirkland batteries. Manufactured by Johnson Controls I believe. Only so many manufacturers. People confuse poor battery quality when they are in a situation that is not the fault of the battery. Even the so called best can be damaged and not perform well after.

Sears platinum battery will beat out optima battery by far. I went through all this on my mustang. My car would sit for 6 months straight with being cranked. After going through 3 autozone batteries. I did my research and had friends whom told me there optima batteries would die to quickly on them. I had the sears on my car for 3 yrs now and not a single problem with it. Car can sit for months and I can go start it without a problem. Just my experience with batteries.
