I did not like that feature - nor Bak's historical lousy customer service and defective components (note that Bak got bought out in 2014 by the company that owns Extang).
I bought an Extang Encore, which folds to the front 1/3 and secures that way - or easily comes up and can be removed or stored in the bed length-wise. Works good for me - and they are local so if I have an issue (already did), I can go there and get it remedied in person.

The Back can be driven with the last fold still kept flat rather than folding up against the window. It's a truck that's why the side mirrors are big.

Taken from the article in the link below:
"THI’s market leading family of brands include Extang, TruXedo, BedRug,UnderCover, Advantage, Retrax and, as of today, BAK."

Correct! Just needs a bungee or small strap to hold down the panels via factory installed D-rings.

I have the bakflip g2 and it is awesome! I love being able to keep some gear and stuff back there and it be locked up. Plus mine has never leaked once and I have had it through snow that has melted, through car washes, and rain. We just had a big storm blow through here in OK on Wednesday and I needed some stuff out of the bed afterwards and it was all bone dry. Plus the cardboard box I have back there was pushed up against the tailgate, so it was close to where water could get in I guess, and it didn't have a drop.

The truck is a Super Cab, The wife keeps Yoga stuff, running stuff, weight lifting stuff. What ever those stationary bike riding stuff is called. She has the stuff she wears for it. And she goes and does a trampaline workout.
And carried work clothes and shoes back forth.
Can put some stuff in the rear and nobody steal it.

I really want one of these but I have a drop in liner (came with the truck) and don't want to drill into it to install the drain hoses. Is that the only option for these types of bed covers? It seems like all the low profile side mounted hard covers have drain hoses.

Most guys will drill in the plastic plugs located in the front portion of the bed. No physical drilling of the bed itself.

That's easy with a bed rug, you just fold it down to find the drain plug then fish it down. With a drop in liner to properly do it I'd have to remove the liner, take measurements to locate the plugs, then drill through the plastic liner still.
Smh... Ha... I know someone is about to make a pitch for Line X!! Lolol
Hmm.. Now that I think about it I could just go to my dealer and make the measurements for the drain hole locations for my truck.
