Economy tune from 5 star
So I just got an SCT 4 tuner with 2 tunes. Performance/tow and Eco (both 87).
I LOVE the 87 performance/tow tune as my daily tune.
I will be taking a long highway trip around Christmas and was wondering what I can expect for MPGs if I load the Eco tune..
Here are some of the facts:
2014 5.0 screw FX4 (3.55s) with a 4" BDS lift.
Currently have 33" tires with the performance tune and I get around 15.5 highway mpg. Drive with cruise at 73-75 mph. Tuner is adjusted for the tire size.
Just before my trip, I plan on upgrading the tires to 35's because the current tires will be pretty worn down by then.
I would like to get the best mpgs I can get on the 4,000 mile trip over the holidays so I plan on installing the Eco tune.
With all that said...larger tires and such, what kind of increase, if any, can I expect for MPGs? Does anyone have any experience with 5 Stars Eco tune?
Will I be disappointed with the power on the highway?
Should I just leave the performance tune and live with the crappy mpgs?

I have the 87 economy and performance/tow tunes that I swap out occasionally. I have 3.55 gears as well. Normally for me the economy tune seems to get a little better mpg in the city and the performance/tow gets a little better on the highway.

I just can't bare to run the economy tune although I have a friend with a 2015 and he's been extremely impressed with the economy tunes for that truck, I guess it is greatly improved power and MPG's wise

I ran the 87 eco tune on 5hr road trip and saw no difference from 87 performance from the mpg. However the eco tunes made my truck seem slower. So I switched back to 87 performance. I have 14 xlt 4x4 screw with stock wheels.

I have an '11 Lariat with the 6.2. In my case, I once had an economy tune. It has since been deleted. It was a 91 economy tune. I tried it on one of my trips out to West Virginia from Delaware. I used it on the first leg of the trip, which was about 70 miles. Had no power, and I saw little difference in gas mileage. When I pulled into a rest area for a break, I switched out to the Livewire's 93 Perf. tune for the rest of the trip. But that was me....
