Does anyone have the Fibermax? It is the same price as the Roll X. F1 is about $120 more.

I too am in the middle of a tonneau cover search. I liked the idea of the roll X, but after researching it extensively, there are three things that concern me:

1. In some pics I've seen of it rolled up, it appears to be over 10 inches thick....that's pretty good sized.

2. The rubber seal at both edges of the bed looks to be very large (wide), even extending past the back of the cover by several inches.

3. The edges of the rubber cover where the "roll" mechanism resides appears to show the rollers through the top....not a very good look to me.

I've not seen one in person, so please keep in mind that these observations are from video and pic research on the Internet.......

I have had roll X on since new Dec 2011, not one issue as of yet, very slim and tight fit, looks great. Don't see how the color fade issue mentioned comes into play it's baked on enamel on aluminum looks great. Again no issues what so ever, very happy with it. Also ahve full bed rug as liner, make big trunk.

I have been very happy with the BAK Roll X.

I think you are talking about their RollBak cover, the one the rolls up into a canister like all the other retractable brands?

The Roll X is all new and I think just started shipping out within the past few weeks.

I got the F1 several months ago, and have been quite happy with it.

That said - if I were buying today, I'd go for the Roll X. From what I can tell, that thing is pretty sweet. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but I'd vote for the Roll X

Rugged Cover tri-fold. $300.00 and no leaks. Just a friendly suggestion!
