Default bad windshield

I think ford has bad glass for the windshield,I got two chips in my windshield today about 3hours apart one in front of the passenger right in line of sight and the other one just above my wiper,I have driven over 300k miles in my life time and this is the first truck that I have owned that the glass cracked this easy,my last 3 dodge rams had over 250k miles and I only had one or two small chips.Has anyone else had issues with their windshields. (MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 2000 MILES ON IT )

Well, now that you mention my wife's Platinum took a windshield at around 9k miles.
She said it was a good size rock that got her, but bottom line - new sound screen windshield. $695 installed at Ford dealer. Ouch

Our truck didn't even make it two weeks before chipping. And my wife was only on a 45mph road not a highway.

Pretty sad really.

Sound screen, eh? Different than stock? If so, notice a difference?

The windshield on my truck is the best one I have ever had. Ever.

Just replaced one this week. Got a rock chip and then over the winter drove ove a bump and it cracked the full length from driver to passenger side. I would say that it is pretty easy to chip.

mine had a rock chip on the black band, but got it repaired before it ran... Ford really did a good job on redesigning the windshield from the 04-08 body style... Carlite makes great parts and ive never had any complaints from customers..
