Default backup camera kits

http://www.stage3motorsports.com/SV-...a-Package.html

Has anyone installed one of these?

They seem to be pretty much a complete standalone deal.

I also like this setup from Tailgatecamera.com:

http://tailgatecamera.com/collection...back-up-camera

Does anyone have any experience with installing either of these?

Thanks

I just installed my backup camera setup. The one from tailgatecamera.com. The lcd rearview mirror one. I love it!

There are some drawbacks, that easily fixed though. I have an 09 with sync. The microphone for sync is on the top side of the rearview mirror. You have to take apart oem mirror to get the microphone out, if you still want to use voice commands. I bought a 10$ camera off of amazon and it took me about 4 hours to install from start to finish.

If you have mechanical skills, and electrical skills. then do it, you will love it. ]

I will be making a thread on just this with more details. I just completed it yesterday labor day.

also you will save about 175$ goign with tailgate camera. com

Thanks for the info. I have Sync, but my microphone is mounted into my headliner so no worries there.

Did you have to drop the headliner to run the wires, and if so how difficult was it?

I'm looking forward to seeing your thread!

I started to look into a backup camera for mine. Seen some info about you'll lose the compass unless you get the gyro (I think) mirror. Or relocate the compass board thing from your oem mirror. Found complete oem type setup but it's like $550. May look into that link you posted though to see if it's a viable option

I took my oem mirror apart and basically took the chip board and put it back inside my headliner(enough space up there) and my compass works fine

Yeah i seen a video somewhere that you can relocate that compass board. Seen it moved down into the dash before. I'll be tackling a backup camera install soon.

We have a limited amount of kits available that have the gyro in the replacement mirror so you won't have to relocate. You simply add a couple wires to the existing plug for video and BCM and the mirror portion of the install is done! This is an OEM Ford replacement mirror, not a Chinese knockoff so you know you're getting a good quality product. We also warranty everything for 3 years so we are there if you need us.

Here's a direct link to the full kit with the new 3.5" OEM gyro mirror and tailgate emblem camera:

Don't forget the f150forum coupon code to save some bucks.

Thanks and don't hesitate to call if you have questions!

Thanks for the info. Your kit is nice but really pricey compared to the other options.
