Default Backup Camera

Greetings All,
I purchased a used 2010 F150 with a backup camera and I am not to familiar with the system. I was wondering if the color lines that appear on the screen are supposed to curve when you are turning while in reverse? We have another vehicle (different manufacturer) that does show curved lines when turning. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

My 2011 doesn't curve. I don't think it's suppose to.

No, the guidelines stay pat. I rented a Tahoe last week for a day that had what you are describing. Was confusing to me. Didn't like it. You should see the parking aid at work thou. That's the flashing Green, Yellow, Red zones in between the guidelines.

Visual park aid alert (if equipped)

Visual park aid alert allows the driver to see the area that is causing the

reverse sensing system to beep. The visual alerts are red, yellow or green

highlights which appear on top of the video image when an object is

detected by the reverse sensing system. The visual alert will highlight

the closest object detected by the reverse sensing system. The reverse

sensing alert can be disabled and if visual park aid alert is enabled,

highlighted areas will still be displayed.

if equipped with touch screen display: To turn this feature on or off

when the vehicle is in R (Reverse), select Settings on the touch screen

display. The visual park aid alert options are ON and OFF.

If equipped with rearview mirror display and optional instrument cluster:

To turn this feature on or off, select the following from the message

center in the instrument cluster:

1. Settings

2. Driver Assist

3. Rear View Camera

4. Visual Park Aid

The visual park aid alert options are ON and OFF. The visual park aid

alert feature is not available on vehicles with a rearview mirror and a

standard instrument cluster.

Note: The reverse sensing system is not effective at speeds above 3 mph

(5 km/h) and may not detect certain angular or moving objects.

Nope - not on a '14 Lariat either, but Ford does make some that curve - on the '13 Fusion - they curve as you back and turn the wheel. Probably some thinking of the way people might back a car vs a truck - not sure, but Ford does, on some vehicles, make them curve - they call them "Active Guidelines".

From the Fusion manual:
Active guidelines: Show the intended
path of your vehicle when reversing.
• Fixed guidelines: Show the actual path
your vehicle is moving in while reversing
in a straight line. This can be helpful
when backing into a parking space or
aligning your vehicle with another
object behind you.
• Centerline (If applicable): Helps align
the center of your vehicle with an
object (i.e. a trailer).
