Default Backseat Rattle

I hear a rattling noise coming from the back seat area of my 2011 supercrew. Does anyone else hear this? Any pointers on what bolt to tighten?

Lift up the seat behind the driver, and tighten down the nut holding the jack - I had to do that myself a while back.

It's the pipe right under the truck around the same area where the driver's seat it. The pipe connects both of the catalytic converters and if you look closely there is a shield separating the pipe from the transmission. One side of the shield is held on with a weld, while the other is held on with what looks like a copper band, something that can move easily with any kind of bump, vibration, movement, etc. Ford intentionally left one side of the shield held loosely (via the copper band) so the shield doesn't bend and break. It causes a rattle on my truck also, especially with my SIDO Flowmaster Super 44, the rattle gets loud and a whistle/screeching noise comes along because of all the vibration which causes the shield to scrape against the pipe. I am still trying to figure out a solution to fix it now instead of having to wait for the metal to age so all the scraping and stuff can stop. Any ideas?

I have notice a rattle from mine coming from the rear passenger side. I had someone sit back there to listen and they told me that it sounded like something rattling within the pillar.
I checked my jack and it was tight. I took it out and I can hear the same rattle. Mine doesn't happen all of the time, it seems to only happen if the temperature is about 70F and above. Cold days, no sound. Warm day, all the time.

Also, my center console seems to rattle on warm days when driving down slightly rough roads. I know that it's the center console because I can push against it and it stops.

Going to the dealer for an oil change and will complain as it's only 6 months old.

Default I have that rattle as well...

Hey guys, new to the forum. Traded in my 2008 lariat crew 4x4 for a new 2011 lariat crew 4x4 ecoboost. I've had the truck for about a month now-but just started hearing the rattle you guys describe above. I have taken out the little insert with the filler funnel, tightened the jacks down, removed child seat, taken out my duha and weathertech mat to no avial. I still have that ****'n rattle. Please let me know if the heat shield with copper band is for sure the problem. Also, anyone come up with a fix? Thanks Tom.

Look into the cable and shroud that opens your power rear slider, I had a rattle and put a few sleeves of tubing around that cable..it was ratteling violently against the back window itself, mostly when on the highway at above 65. I finally found the problem and the fix solved it...happy hunting!! Like I stated before in other threads...my 11' has more pops and rattles than any pick-up Ive ever owned, and the challenge is to find'em all..Hahaha!!

Heres a couple of pics...

Thanks for the information Lazyeye. I think that is where my rattling is coming from. I've run my hand back there and couldn't feel anything loose enough to cause a rattle, but apparently there is a carpet trim piece that covers the wire? How did you get that piece off?Tom.

You have to unlock the back seat and pull it down if you have a Screw to have easier access, and the carpet just pulls away very easily. Its tight getting the tubing in there between the glass and the cable but thats the root cause of why you have a rattle. You dont have to use tubing...something similar to deaden the vibration is all you need!

Default thanks again.

Okay, I was inside at work when I asked about the carpet trim. I see the carpet easily pulls back to expose the cable. I'm thinking that is the majority of what I'm hearing. I'm guessing some soft rubber tubing and electrical tape are in my future. Tom.
