Back up camera or Bumper Sensors?
I am looking at adding the camera or the sensors to my 2011. I know many have both but if I were to choose one which should I choose? Why? Thanks!

For daily use, the sensors are great. Progressive beeping as you get closer to an object. For towing, I really like my backup camera. It puts me square on and under the hitch 1st time, every time. If it came down to a choice though I would choose the sensors.

If ur getting a camera with the guidelines, then I'd take that over sensors. If the camera has no lines, I'd take the sensors. I have an aftermarket camera without the lines and it can be tricky to be able to tell how close I are to something. The camera also won't help u see stuff that are near the back corners of ur truck. With the sensors, it'll beep to let u know if something is directly in back of u AND if something is towards ur corners. One big advantage that the camera has is the ability to help u see when hooking up to a trailer

Truck (2010) came with sensors. I decided to add the camera (which was a major pita). The mirror screen is really small. I find myself relying on the sensors much more. I could do without the camera but not the sensors...but I don't have small children in my household.

I wish the camera would show in the dash screen really, those mirror screens suck if you ask me. Personally I love those sensors and want them badly in my 2012 after backing up into my trash can twice now

Thanks for the help so far....lot of great info, I see both parts have their strengths. Not sure what I will do......
So you can add the OEM camera set up....Can you add the OEM sensors or is it an aftermarket?

From factory both. They work together and the screen shows where the sensors detect something. Just one, I prefer the camera. Take it out and learn to backup using it to a big line. Get out and look how close you are etc. Once you get it, the camera is awesome and you can use it to hook up your trailer without help.
