Back in the shop... :(
Well my truck is back in the shop for I can't even remember now how many times. One of the good things about it though is they are replacing my rusting front bumper and all four rims as the chrome is pitting, but anyways back to my grievence...
My truck has been having hesitation problems for quite a while now and they could never reproduce it but as soon as I left the lot BAM! it would do it. So I took it into the dealer and this time after numerous complaints they finally setup a computer and the service manager was with me to drive it to catch a recording 15 secs before and 15 secs after the times is would hesitate. He even agreed he felt it and sometimes it is really bad so we got 12 recordings...Lo and behold no codes were thrown...damn! They are not optimistic about finding a fix.
To add insult to injury I told them about another problem I had and that was when I tried to pass someone on the road back about a month ago and I couldn't do it...transmission seemed to slip and engine revved very high so I had to backoff and get back behind the vehicle I was trying to pass.
And get this...when I first start the truck in the morning if I try to go into reverse right away without a warmup the truck won't move...I make sure it is in reverse but no luck. I can reproduce this every morning....ugh!
They gave me a 2010 F150 5.4 3v truck as a loaner and man what a difference in the response and braking....making me wish I didn't get the 4.6 3v now...especially with all the problems I have had..

In Minnesota, if the dealer has worked on the truck 30 times or had it for a total of 30 days in the shop it qualifies for Lemon Law. Not sure if your state is the same, but my advice would be to keep taking it in over and over and over again--the dealership will get so tired of seeing you come in that they will either fix it or eventually have enough documented visits to replace it with a new 2010 under the Lemon Law. These trucks cost too much to put up with issues as you are describing, so don't give up on it and settle for driving that truck...stand your ground like Mel Gibson in Braveheart and get it fixed or replaced!
Good luck with it.

I would speculate that your issues are not with the 2009 4.6L vs. 5.4L, but with the tranny.

Are you serious?? 30 times?? I think in Idaho it's only 3/4 attempts to fix a problem. Who in the world would go back 30 times? IF 30 is correct, then it sucks for you guys lol. Anyway to the op, good luck, I hope they fix it.

I thinx this site lists the "Lemon" laws for each State in the US.
http://www.carlemon.com/lemonstat.html
And if that don't work, call "Saul Goodman, Attorney At Law".
