Default Back to F150 from a 2014 Ram

I'm baaaaccckkkkk.....I just picked up a 2012 F150 Platinum Supercrew 6.5ft bed with the 6.2 two days ago and am absolutely loving it! Now some people may remember that I use to have an 06 F150 FX4 that due to this site, I ended up going crazy on. I got rid of that truck and got an 08 Mustang GT and quickly realized I am not a car guy....so I then switched it up and got a 2014 Ram 1500 regular cab with the hemi/8 speed and 3.92 rear end. The truck was quick and got over 20mpg. The 8 speed tranny is amazing and paired with the 3.92 rear end was fantastic. I also went over the top with this truck and made it crazy. Unfortunately/fortunately I needed something bigger(2 black labs + fiancé) and I wanted something more luxurious...this is where I currently sit with my new to me 2012 Platinum. So far (2 days in), I am very happy with my decision to get it. The amenities are unreal and is so quiet! This could be from the muffler delete and 37" Toyo M/Ts I had on the Ram too though...hahaha.

Well here are some pics of the before as and a couple not so good pics of my new F150...ill be sure to get some more pics once I get to spend some time with it...I have some things I need to fix and some things I want to do....so I can't wait to browse the forum and catch up on the new stuff going on in the world of F150's!!

Since I posted from my phone....the only pic I had of my 06 F150 was a screenshot....there are a ton more on my profile on here if you guys/gals want to see more....

Yeah I had a base Ram because I knew I was going to put in a sound system, lift it, make my own headlights, and all that. The one thing that was awful were the stock upper control arms and balljoints. Most of the time with a 2" level spacer or higher, you had a good chance of the upper BJ popping out the top of the control arm. When I added the Bilsteins and set them at the highest setting (2.8), I made sure I got aftermarket beefy control arms.

Also, I need to update all my info....thanks for reminding me...I'm in RI now, Warwick to be precise.

Congrats I can't wait to see what your new truck looks like after you go over the top with it.

That's just it!....I really don't want to...I mean eventually I wouldn't mind it but I would like to enjoy a fairly normal truck for once. For example, my 2 pups had to be picked up to get into my Ram...1 was too small and the other was just being a scaredy cat.

But for this one, I would like to level it (still debating how I want to do it), I'm going to retrofit a set of headlights (I still have all the parts other than a set of F150 headlights, as I was going to make another set for my Ram), I'm going to go through and do alllllll the maintenance stuff since it has 66k miles. I'm going to drop the trans pan and change the filter, change oil in the diffs/transfer case/engine, and I'm thinking of doing the spark plugs as well. I might as well start with a clean slate. The truck is from Canada so I need to find a way to disable the DRL's too and then I can start my retrofit of the headlights. I have some serious researching to do on this bad boy....Cannot wait!!!

That's one nice Ram. Not a fan of the lift or the shell though. They look perfect right out of the box. Should have kept it and gotten a van for your other needs lol

Man are you like triple-upsidedown on your loans? That's a lot of trading

Glad to see someone else is as car/truck ADD as me. I just got out of a Mustang GT back to an F150 Lariat. Used of course, but I have come to the reckoning that I am a truck guy as well. I have also come to the conclusion that I cannot drive a Mustang as a DD. I am also not upside down in this truck. I could trade today, I just do not want to do it. I love my F150's! OP I also like all of your rigs.

No, I made out on the mustang and on the 06 F150 and lost a little on the Ram...but I mean I lost a bunch in all the stuff I did to each vehicle. It's worth it to me to drive something I enjoy.
