Default Axle Shafts

Does anyone have specs on the regular F150 9.75" axles. Stuff like length and wheel studs. I know they got a larger bearing diameter back in 99 and are 34 spline but are the 09 and up their own length... or the same as 04 to 08? Pretty sure I sheared my drivers side one today.... not so impressive that at like 13000 miles on the stock Pirellis it happens but oh well. Along with tossing the elocker in the metal bin I want to replace the axles with something stronger if I can. Not finding conclusive evidence online thus far but I will keep searching. Thanks!

Tried cross referencing axles and of course any aftermarket ones available show to 08 only. I guess I will pull the passenger side one and measure it... then see if it is the same length as the older model trucks. I'm thinking it's a wheel stud change but who knows. If i have to i will get the drivers side swapped and run it provided the carrier isn't wrecked.... or have it rebuilt and just do new stockers. I will however contact someone like strange and have 2 sets of stronger alloy shafts custom done if no off the shelf units are available.

Did you break the actual shaft? And how did it happen?

I will post pictures mostly for my own satisfaction once I haul the truck home and pull the rear cover..... See what parts fall out. The only thing holding the drivers wheel on the truck is the caliper and bracket so it's sheared. I imagine the carrier is screwed too as the E locker is no longer functional... which i dont care as I am not reusing it. I kind of hope my crown and pinion are still good because if they aren't I see myself regearing to 4.10's just because.

Warrior is selling a axle from Summit Racing, claims to be 50% stronger. He probably has some good knowledge about them.

Here's the link to Summit Racing.

Thank you. I contacted him as Yukon won't say yes or no on whether they work in the 09 and up trucks. The link you gave differs fromanother one i have. Both are passenger side shafts but your link is 31. Something and the one i have for passenger rear is 33.5". One is like 975001 and the other 975006. That's why i would love to know the stockers lengths for sure. Will get to the bottom of this yet!

I hope they work for you. It would be nice to know for future reference if we can run some stronger axle shafts on our trucks.

For sure. I edited my post after you quoted about the part number differences I found. Ford has been no help... just gave me somewhat useless part numbers.

Are you not still under warranty at 13000?

Warranty.... lol. What good is that? So I can have the stock trash back in there again? No thank you. Ford does not go anywhere near either of my trucks. Although obviously weak I broke the shaft... i will use this opportunity to improve by changing both axles and the E locker for a Detroit.

The only "warranty" thing I want from Ford is to fix the a/c on the truck that broke. I actually had an appointment that I cancelled today as it won't be ready by January 2nd. Once it's diff is fixed I will take it in for the a/c
.. and if they don't fix anything based off the funny smell thread on here.. being swap my evap core... i will get someone to do that beyond Ford too.
