AutoAnything and Covercraft

I thought AutoAnything was well-regarded around here. Is it just me or is sales way out in front of customer service?

I ordered some Covercraft seat covers for my SCAB and received mismatched stuff, then sent it back, then got new mismatched stuff and then ... crickets.

Instead of exchanging the wrong stuff for the right stuff, my claim has been changed to a "warranty request" which, 10 days later, has not been responded to at all.

Is there a war going on between Covercraft and AutoAnything or is this the usual deal where there are a legion of salesman awaiting your order and the CS rep comes in on Thursdays?

Wanted33 08-01-2013 05:43 PM

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I just ordered some things for the Wifey's car, and everything went very smooth. The customer service was very good. There is a member hear that is a rep for AutoAnything, AJ@AutoAnything. PM him, hopefully he can help.

FX4ECO 08-01-2013 07:25 PM

Sorry to hear it went south...
Just ordered an exhaust today, hope it goes well.

Thumper68 08-01-2013 09:41 PM

I am hoping that your case is an exception, and not the norm. I just got a covercraft cargo net from anythingauto. Is was missing the hooks. I called autoanything, they contacted covercraft while I was on the phone with them. I recieved the hooks 2 days later! I felt that they handled it great. I was pleased with the customer service from both of them.

I would take wanted33's advice and contact AJ. I hope they get it straightened out for. Let us know what happens.

Roget 08-02-2013 12:01 AM

Just got an email from them apologizing for the delay and insisting they have just sent "an urgent request for status to the warehouse", whatever that means. I guess I'll find out what that gets me before I bug AJ.

Georgia FX4 08-02-2013 10:13 AM

If you want something done you need to call them yourself. I ordered a BAK F1 and paid extra for overnight shipping. Well I was charged 100 bucks for the shipping but it was sent regular UPS (free shipping). I used their chat services and they pretty much just brushed me off. Well since $100 is a lot of money to me and I was moving and needed the cover ASAP I called them and they fixed everything that day. Autoanything is pretty good but it seems as if you need to go the extra mile to make sure everything is good.

AutoAnything 08-06-2013 07:00 PM

I really apologize Roget, please do not feel like you are bugging me this is why I am here. Send me a PM with your order number, even if it is being taken care of I will keep an extra eye on the order to make sure everything works out how you want it to.
AJ

I ordered my intake and exhaust from them. Killer price showed up decently fast for standard shipping. But then I recently had to find new lug nuts for my new setup. Found the Pro Comp lug nuts there way cheaper then anywhere else and I was thrilled. I needed them in a hurry so that following Monday (my only day off from work) I could install them then. Ordered Thursday at 11am paid for overnight shipping and they didnt even leave there till Friday later in the afternoon. Didnt show up until late Monday when I couldn't work on it. Very disappointed. Yes ill still order from them but wont count on them to ship on time.

I've spent a lot of money on Auto Anything, Great company!, I've dealt with returns, and warranty items. Currently on my second warranty issue with a product, and the manufacturer is being slow....and now my product is "back ordered", already been a month, I know Autoanything is out of stock so i guess it really is back ordered. Just frustrating to spend $250 on tail lights and not even get to enjoy them:(

Good luck with your issue OP, calling them always works best for me!

Roget 08-09-2013 04:27 PM

Well, a week later and nothing has changed. Other than AJ saying he will look into it, I have had no response from anyone. I still have a product that doesn't fit and no-one has given me any assurance they intend to correct it.

TheTallest 08-09-2013 05:28 PM

I have nothing but good things to say about Coverking and Autoanything.

I had ordered a set of the Coverking mesh seats and while installing them one of the clips broke. I got in touch with AJ from Autoanything and then Brian P. from Autoanything and explained what had happened. They called Coverking and secured two new clips for me. I just received them in the mail today and will be fixing my covers this weekend.

Autoanything is awesome.

By reading some of these posts it seems AJ has some training issues to take care of. Granted we are a captured audience, but as a approved vendor for this forum it sounds like he needs to brush up on his customer service skills because we do talk to each other. If you don't have something in stock tell us, if it's back ordered tell us, give us the opportunity to try a different item or offer a refund. For 11 posts, the % of negative tells me something ain't right in AJ's house.

Old Smoky 08-09-2013 06:20 PM

I've ordered quite a few items from AutoAnything. Whenever I've ordered anything like seat covers, it's always at least a 4-5 week wait. I guess Coverking and AutoAnything don't inventory much when it comes to seat covers. Made to order.

It does state...especially for CoverKing that each order is custom and each order takes time to fulfill. I just chose the covers I bought so I'm not sure how it is for other manufacturers. Like I said, I had a good experience with AutoAnything and CoverKing.

I understand that, and had no problem waiting for the order to be filled initially. However, the order was filled incorrectly (twice). On the first occasion they were communicative. Stuff happens, everything doesn't always go to plan ... I get that. But on the second goof-up (ironically, they had me send the whole order back, and then exchanged some correct parts for incorrect ones!) they have just gone silent.

They aren't saying, whoops we're trying really hard to fix this. They aren't saying, be patient and the right stuff will be along. They aren't even acknowledging there is a problem of their making and they are going to correct it. They are just ignoring it.

Roget 08-12-2013 04:49 PM

Called AutoAnything again today. I asked them if they had ANY information on what the heck was going on or when something might happen. They told me they can't reach anyone to resolve the problem and had no solution to offer! When I asked them to transfer me to the returns dept ... they hung up on me!

Based on this experience, I won't be having any transactions with this company beyond making sure I get my money back. Very shabby service.

mrgooden 08-12-2013 09:03 PM

Did you contact AJ?

Maybe file a claim with you credit card company.

Richard

Bogie89 08-12-2013 10:13 PM

A co-worker had this same problem. He bought a leather or whatever tonneau cover for his 03 f150 5.5 bed and they sent him a 8ft one for a dodge ram. They would not help or let return. So he sold it to another co worker so he could get the one he needed else where. Maybe I have gotten lucky the 2 times I ordered from here

Called CoverKing myself. They said they would love to help me and send the right stuff but their contract with AutoAnything forbids them from directly doing so. They did say that AutoAnything is using the wrong PO number and that can't do anything without the correct one.

So what does that say? If I can get to the bottom of it in 5 minutes, and AutoAnything can't advance the ball in TWO WEEKS? It says they haven't tried and they don't care!

If a dirtbag salesperson isn't going to make a commission, he won't even lift the phone.

AutoAnything 08-13-2013 10:47 AM

Roget,
I have to apologize again, I will make sure something gets finalized here quickly. I was out of town last week which made it hard to get much "forum" work done, before I left we send out another email to Covercraft and I had another agent continue working on your order. This has taken way to long and completely understand your frustration. I have your order number and will give covercraft a call again today. I will also look into the situation where the Agent hung up on you. I am sure there was a mistake as you can bet someone would not be working here long if they were hanging up on customers!
AJ

Z7What 08-13-2013 10:50 AM

I have ordered my Intake and AMP steps from there. Everything went perfect, got better than the best price I could find elsewhere and shipping was VERY fast! Sorry you had a bad order. It just may be a simple mistake by someone. I surely won't have a problem ordering from them again!!

TheTallest 08-13-2013 12:34 PM

I got my replacement clips for my CoverKing Mesh Seat covers on Friday of last week. I honestly didn't really expect to get them even though I was told they were being sent out. Not only that but I figured I'd only get one side of the one I broke but they sent two complete clips.

Needless to say I'm very happy with AutoAnything and CoverKing. I'm sorry the OP is having a rough go of it with them and I hope that it gets resolved for him. The few times I've spoken to AJ he has been nothing but helpful. It's definitely odd that someone hung up on you.

AutoAnything 08-13-2013 01:37 PM

Roger,
You are going to have an Agent contact you very shortly with a solution we came up with that I am pretty sure you will be happy with. Again I apologize on Coverkings behalf on the crazy delay and hoops they had you jump though, this is not like them at all and am sure something just got lost or disorganized on their side, either way we are going to do whatever it takes to make sure you are happy with the purchase. Let me know if you have questions with this order or any future ones.
AJ

Your the man AJ. BTW, I got the Colgan mirror covers for the Wifey's Mustang. They fit great, and will do what I need of them. Thanks again for the great deal brother.

Thanks, AJ.
I replied to an email from one of your customer representatives, supplying once again photos of the headrests and seats and the door sticker.

To be fair however, I think the blame can be apportioned. It wasn't just Covercraft making me jump through hoops to get what I paid for. Repeated requests to AutoAnything went nowhere until I called Covercraft myself.

Alls well that ends well, so I'm still hopeful of receiving my complete order, and will report back here when that happens.

AutoAnything 08-14-2013 10:04 AM

Gotcha, I can clearly see that now. I will keep an eye on your order but please keep us updated with the status of this situation. If you need anything please do not hesitate to PM me or post a question on the thread.
AJ
Wanted33, Glad you got the mirror covers on the mustang! Let me know if you need anything else.

Roget 08-26-2013 10:23 AM

Here we are - another 2 weeks on and still no response beyond "we'll get right back to you" ....

I'm still waiting for that solution I'm "going to be pretty happy with". Lightning, it ain't.

Are you not able to get your money back? Report a non receipt of merchandise via your credit card company and file a claim. Then report your experience to anyone thst will listen.

Richard

Roget 09-10-2013 12:00 PM

That is the route I am now taking. After all the promises from AJ and AutoAnything I have recieved exactly zero in action. No emails, no phone calls and of course ... no correct covers.

My advice to anyone ordering from these people is to look in the mirror first and ask yourself if you feel lucky.

gray rider 09-10-2013 12:48 PM

Wow, this thread started 1 Aug and the OP is still waiting for some sort of resolution.

FamilyOfFords4Life 09-10-2013 01:05 PM

I'm sorry for all the OP's problems but I'm glad for places like this...I was contemplating a large purchase to outfit my new truck but I'm going to think twice. It shouldn't take a month to get something like this resolved. I hope you get your money back, thanks for the heads up from a newb.

Still waiting? Have you gotten a refund yet? Anything? That stinks, I guess I should consider myself lucky my order worked out for the coverking covers from them.

Have you been able to have your funds reversed back to you?

Richard

Roget 09-11-2013 07:33 AM

AutoAnything have now agreed to refund the purchase price.

Thanks to you on the forum for enduring the saga.
