Auto Spring LvL kit
I am having my kit installed by a shop for 150 dollars and they had a bunch of trouble installing it and they say its due to the control arm being different than the 08's. Anyways they called Auto Spring and they suggested some tips and it will be ready tommorrow morning. Anyone heard of this and what do yall think about the shop getting confused?
I just installed the 2" kit on my 2010 supercrew this week. Not to much of a problem but you definitely need spring compressors to get the job done. The springs are tough compress even with compressors. Getting the upper a arm and ball joint back together requires jacking up on the lower a arm quite a bit. I am quite happy with the end result !!!!!!!!!!!
I put it on my '10 crew as well and kind of had a hard time. The spring compressors we had werent that great, so we had a pretty good fight getting them back in. Ended up not really liking the end result so I took it to my mechanic and had him take them out. They had no problems with it, but I took it to him because there was no way I could have gotten them back out. Sounds like they just didnt have the right equipment or just gave up a little easy.
yeah when I talked to the guy on the phone he said like three times he didnt want to break anything and they just had been told by Auto Spring to use a jack on the ball joint. I kinda like the fact they called the Manf. and asked instead of just jamming things untile it worked. They come very recommended from all the people at work so I think they will get it right.
OMG! for that kinda money you could put it towards bilsteins and still get the same lift.. wow.
I changed mine on my 05 2 years ago in the garage in under an hour, piece of cake. Why does this seem harder on the 09-10's exactly? I'd like to be prepared when I trade up.

The 09-10s have a different bottom arm with a bigger lower shock mount, which need the shock to be dropped into instead of being able to slide into, if that makes sense. If you take the axle out of the hub by popping off the cap and removing the 13mm nut this will let you drop the lower arm down further as the cv joint binds otherwise. You won't need a spring compressor if you do it this way. I think it was tough country instructions that show it this way.

I dont buy into the blistens I mean they are good. If they use the same factory bumpstops then that means you gain travel. If you place a 35 inch tire on your truck then that means the tire at full compression will rub in your wheel well, or so it looks to me in the pictures on there web site. It is a great thing with the stock tires but if you go any bigger you will rub because your not lowering the suspension your just adding travel. I dont know though, maybe someone can explain to me why they would not rub but when I look at the pics and explaination online it looks like 35s would rub. Lots of spelling errors....... pls forgive.
