Attention all you 2011-12 sync / Iphone owners!

I am not downing anyone on this site or anywhere for that matter that is not interested in using the phone as a phone or a text service... So I can understand you are happy with sync and your Iphone! But for us that got the Iphone to make calls and text along with other features that make it a cool tech toy I feel it frustrating to buy into a system that was suppose to use the Phone features, better than any other system in the market but at the same time can't do what it says it can do.... AS FOR A PHONE!

I have the 4S (Company phone) and 2012 F150 standard sync and texting does not work with mine. Another thing that is aggravating on mine is when my Iphone is connected to the sync I do not receive any sound notifications when I get a text or email. The only way is to go to the music player and touch the icon on the bottom right hand corner and when the menu pops up change it from sync to the iphone. If I don't I do not know when I get an email or text without looking at the phone. I travel a lot and wish I did not have to change that every time I get in the truck and the texting work at least be able to read it to me. When I have the Iphone connected to any other Bluetooth device that I have including my laptop the email and text notification sounds work just fine without changing the output of sound in the music player.

Hi, everyone -
I hear you loud and clear and have passed your feedback along.
Another great place to voice your opinion is Ford Social:
www.Social.Ford.com
Ideas are reviewed daily.
Please keep in mind, the phones that currently support this feature, can receive text, but cannot send (other than the predefined messages stored within the system).
To confirm, kbass24emtp, this feature is newly supported on MyFord Touch equipped vehicles.

If texting worked properly you would be here complaining that the canned responses suck. Because they do. If you thought it was a full featured text service you were misinformed. Even fully functional it is useless for texting. Though for phone calls mine is flawless except for the occasional time it calls a person's cell instead of home. This has been with android and iphones.

I like iPhone over android, if you thought sync was crashing and rebooting all the time, try an android device! Lol
It would be nice if iPhone worked as well as other phones but it makes me wonder how much of it is actually apples fault because of their exclusivity in their products.
It would be nice if cellular makers could agree upon one standard format and protocol, it may help things be more compatible with systems like this.

I have iPhone 5 now but have had Droid, Droid X, and Droid X2. The androids worked great with sync BUT I didn't like sync so I got rid if it and use an aftermarket HU which I love and is way better.

So you are saying that even if it worked, it isn't what it is cracked up to be! Well I guess you can't have everything and I guess I will be good with that,,,,, It to me is nothing different than the EcoBoost MPG,,,, I am not getting 21 MPG highway and I drive like an old man but I would like to be able to pass a car on the highway on a hot humid day even if it effects my mpg! I am pretty happy with getting 18 mpg hwy in this big of truck when I couldn't get it out of a smaller Nissan..... But I could pass on the hwy in my Nissan without any issues! So plan and simple,,,, it may not be as good as you would like to see but Damn at least get it to work!
