I was mistaken, the Off-Road package was not available on the Platinum or Limited.

Here is the 2014 brochure. The information you are looking for is under the Technical Specification on the brochure and the 2nd link.

Master of none
I have a 2014 5.0 4x4 Platinum. The drive train is exactly the same as the Limited (except for the eco limitation). I wanted the Limited but not the V6 (personal preference). Would have preferred a 6.2 but none found and the 5.0 is lightyears better than the 5.4 it replaced.
The only real differences were the seat leather and dash trim.
4A is fine but not available on lower trim levels. I tow without any issues. If you get the Eco, you'll be fine.

I really like my Limited but then this is the first truck we have owned. As far as I know there were no off road packages. They either came in two wheel drive or four wheel drive, all 4x4 have 4A, 4 Hi & 4 Lo(I believe all Lariats that were 4x4 had that). Mine is an Ecoboost but I think you could order them with the 5.7 (I think I read that in the sales brochure). If the tires are the only thing that lowers the payload and you require more you can always change them.
The things that pushed use to the Limited verse the Lariat or any other model were; 1. The interior, it is the only one without that fake wood trim on the dash. 2. The exterior look including the 22" wheels. We are not off roaders, just like the ability to get around in the bad weather. 3. The price (this may be #1), we got it when the 15s were coming out got close to 15k off which brought it closer to what the XLTs were going for.

Looking at a deal to trade my 2015 FX4 in on a 2014 Limited. I've always owned FX4's so a little leery about switching to a Limited. Looking for any thoughts on what you think of your Limited's, if there are any limitations with the Limited vs an FX4, or any other general thoughts to help me decide if I want to make the switch or not. Much appreciated for any input you have.
Thanks.
Thanks.
The interior colour of the 14 is Blue leather with dark grey carpeting/trim. The blue is pretty subtle, it wasn't the reason I bought the truck but I don't mind it. The '13 had red leather which I personally don't care for and the '11 had grey/dark grey leather. Another posted mentioned an all black interior - unfortunately there was no such thing for this body style so it would be a long search.
I have had no issues with the driveline in either of my limiteds. I have had the 6.2 in both which was only an option in Canada for 14. My understanding is that all US limiteds for 14 were the Eco not that there is anything wrong with that. It will most likely be the engine I will go to when I get my '16 this summer as the 6.2 no longer exists.
My '14 has been trouble free other than a few squeaks and rattles that I have addressed myself. I have never had an issue with the power running boards which I thought could be a problem when I first got them on my '11. I am up in Northern Ontario and we get snow/ice/salt/etc for what sometimes feels like 11 months out of the year. I do hose them out once a week and have a heated garage which I am sure does not hurt. On the PRB, I can only ever recall seeing two trucks with a board stuck in the out position.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I think you will like the Limited if that is the way you want to go. Myself, I can't complain about it.
