Asking for help from Limited owners
Looking at a deal to trade my 2015 FX4 in on a 2014 Limited. I've always owned FX4's so a little leery about switching to a Limited. Looking for any thoughts on what you think of your Limited's, if there are any limitations with the Limited vs an FX4, or any other general thoughts to help me decide if I want to make the switch or not. Much appreciated for any input you have.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The Limited have less payload capacity and lower towing numbers due to the 22s.
I can't say for sure but I think I have read that the AWD systems aren't the same as the 4X4 systems so the normal 4X4 lift kit wont work.
Only available with Ecoboost.

I wouldnt say getting a 14 limited over a 15 FX is downgrading , it's still a step up . Not all Limiteds are awd. Some are 4x4. I wouldn't get rid of my limited for a newer FX . Want more towing just change tires/rims on the Limited.

since starting in '15, FX4 was a option package, it will depend on what Trim level your '15 is.
In 13-14 Ford offered the Off-Road package that had all of the mechanical extras on the FX4.
So if you can find a '14 Limited with the Off-Road package, you will be all set.

I was in the market for an F150 last year and I was specific trim and option levels on my truck and the FX4 and limited were the ones I was settling on. I wanted Nav, backup cam, heated/cooled seats. The on thing that I didn not like about the limitless were the interior leather combinations. I wanted black and the limited's were not easy to find. I found a FX4 with identical options as the limited and I didn't have to worry about the automatic running boards breaking in the future. You will be able to find a FX4 with the same trim level as a limited.
If you ask me the fx4 looks better than the limited but then again I didn't want the flash of the limited

Don't believe there was a off road package offered on the limited . As it replaced the Harley edition . It's a street truck

2014 Limited
I have 20,000 troublefree miles on my 2014 Limited, I'm extremely happy with it, I was drawn to the Blue Jeans color with the Marine Blue seats. The automatic running boards are something I didn't really care about but now I love them. I used to shy away from fancy options figuring they would just break, I was the last person to get automatic windows, now I embrace the cool features. Except the voice activation feature, that's like arguing with a woman, you always lose and just get frustrated.
I changed out the rims and tires, leveled it out and added a rear AAL to beef up the suspension a bit, now it rides better than the factory setup. I like the FX4's as well so either way you won't be suffering.

The things that pushed use to the Limited verse the Lariat or any other model were; 1. The interior, it is the only one without that fake wood trim on the dash. 2. The exterior look including the 22" wheels. We are not off roaders, just like the ability to get around in the bad weather. 3. The price (this may be #1), we got it when the 15s were coming out got close to 15k off which brought it closer to what the XLTs were going for.
