Default Anyone seen damage like this?

Driver's side

Not sure how this happened, but I noticed this after a hot day (~100). There is no other signs of damage, my only thought is maybe the sun melted it? Warranty claim?

I thought it might be as well, but have washed it since. There are also some indents in the pillar as well

no way it just "happened" that way from the sun or other heat source .... it's perfectly across/aligned to both pillars. someone or something hit/pressed against it and dented it and/or got some substance on there that ate into the finish.

sorry to see that ...

You might try some Adam's Super VRT. That stuff works great on plastic, rubber, and vinyl to give it that shiny new look again. The plastic and rubber trim on these trucks suck. It wouldn't take any indentions out of course, but might make it look more consistent.

It's also a great tire dressing unless you just have to have that real wet look. It lasts quite awhile and will not splatter. I use it on everything.

I'v seen it on houses and I'v heard of it on cars(never saw it on cars till yours)
4-5 years ago ,I Got a call to replace siding that was deformed(looked like it was melted)
Ran right across the 2nd floor of a $5,000,000.00beach house.
Replaced 5 sq of ceder impressions.
Thats when it hit me,and it was HOT
The neighbors low-e window threw a perfect +(cross) reflection from the sun and as the sun moved , so did the reflection . It was like a magnifying glass under the sun and it just moved along melting as it went.
Since then I'v seen it a few times and no right away what it is.
Here are some pictures

And heres an article about it

If you go at the insurance company with this you might have a claim

Come to think of it, I notice it a couple days after I saw this after getting some pizza for lunch, 95% of it wiped off. Maybe the other happened at the same time and I didn't notice it because this jumped out at me.
