Default anyone running straight pipes on there v8

so im wanting to do a straight pipe setup but i need some help on which pipe to go with i wanted to do a 4in pipe and everyone looked at me crazy so what do yal recommend i have a 2010 fx4 5.4 if that helps. thanks in advance

that and they asked me if i wanted to run a muffler and i said no i want it straight pipe, are you suppose to run a muffler for straight pipe or is it just pipe.

If you plan on driving on the street you will need a muffler...even at the track they have DB limits so a muffler is required.

You can run a 4 inch tip. But wouldnt go no more the 3 or 3 1/2 pipes

i was planning on doing a dummy muffler gut the inside and weld around the exhaust pipe

that gibson metal mulisha sounds wicked good and its a 4in pipe whats the difference if u dont mind me asking

I had straight pipes, but only 2.5". Sounded great to me... Couple hangers busted tho and it fell and bent thus making it hang lower on one side so i took it off until i can get extra $ for another... Like they all said i wouldn't go too big, not because of sound, but because i think you lose some power with wide open pipes... How much? Not sure.

3" pipe- anything too much larger and you're going to dump your bottom end torque even worse than you already will.

Had 3" Y pipe on my 2010 F150, no muffler, just cats. Sounded awesome, never got any tickets about exhaust.
