I'm hating the big sill on my truck, I find myself trying to step over it to avoid heavy scratching and definitely would like to install a sill protector. I'm loving the look of the (Auto Ventshade. Part #91114) sill protectors. Does the 2 sided tape effectively create a seal around the edges? Part of me is curious if water and dirt migrating under the plastic would be cause of concern for premature rotting of the rocker panels.

Legimate concern? I tend to be over skeptical at the best of times.

Not Legitamate, what little water or dirt gets under, will take many years to to any real damage! Unless you drive down the road with your door open or removed!

Thanks for the reply. A follow up question, Im assuming since the (Auto Ventshade. Part #91114) fit 2013 SCrews, that they will fit 2014 F150 Supercrew contrary to Amazon's compatibility widget?

Yes a 14s no different, they fit Perfectly on my 12 Screw! Without any modifacations or added 3m tape! They look better than the Ford versions, and Match much nicer than Fords version too!

I purchased and installed the OEM version protection a few months ago and was quite disappointed by the thin gauge "tape" consistency plus insufficient (IMO) wrap-around edge protection (plus no included rear door coverage). I ordered those 'cus Amazon's product fit guide says Auto Ventshade 91114 "Does not fit your 2014 Ford F-150". If P/N 91114 actually does fit my SuperCab as furnished as a 4-piece set, I'll happily pull off and ditch the cheesy stuff on there now.

Finally picked these up for the '14 SCrew. Was warm enough yesterday for the install. I decided to go with OEM sill plates. I used the exact same ones that I have in my 2004 SCrew. Got all 4 from the dealer at cost plus tax. $102. They've held up beautifully in my old truck. Plus I liked the F150 logo. Absolute flawless install. The material ford uses makes it impossible to get any air bubbles. Still can't figure out why they don't come with the truck....besides cost.
