Default Anyone running lights under their hood?

I am in need of some lights under my hood, I get tired of holding my flashlight, not fun bitting down on cold aluminum! I ran into KC Hilites 350 wile searching. Thoughts?

Mine didn't come with a hood light but it did come with a dog so I wouldn't have to walk home alone. LOL. Seriously though my uncle has three f150s that are 30-40 years old and they all have hood lights, as well as my dads 06 super duty, and my moms 01 excursion. My uncle was light that fancy truck doesn't have a hood light. I am interested to where this goes because I would like to add something.

I think they imagine you'll never have to open the hood for anything outside of the dealer...

I put in some led strip lights attached to the back side of the grill. Simplest way would be to run them to the battery and add a switch to turn it on when you need it. You can use a Mercury switch or pressure switch to turn it on, but I think a simple on/off switch is best. Mercury will shift while you drive and stop and can cause the light to flicker under the hood.

NICE!

now I definitely have a project in my future. where did you get your light strips? the ides of a simple switch is nice but knowing me I would forget to turn them off an end up running down my battery. perhaps a combination mercury and manual switch would work.
