Default yes it is much easier then you think.

If you take out the front seats taking out the sunroom is much easier. From the sunroof doctor the track parts are only 125 if I remember correctly.

I tried laying them back all the way and that wasnt as easy as taking them out. Ill post what size of socket/hex/star you need in the morning. Take out the four screws and pull one electric clip and out the seat comes.

Pull out the passenger seat by removing the 4 bolts and the wiring plug and take the sunroof track out that door. You don't have to disconnect the seatbelt, its long enough to get the seat out of the way. The driver seat lays back far enough that its not an issue.
My passenger seat airbag-off light came on after I removed it and I haven't yet taken the time to figure out how to reset it. I only fixed the track on Sunday. I seem to remember its a simple reset.

I think the biggest problem with these things breaking is not using them enough. As someone wrote above, use it or lose it! Gotta keep those parts moving or things start staying in place and break...

Could be true. I used mine prett much everday during summer/fall. Then the first snow storm hit and I accidently opened the sunroof instead of the back window. Totally user error and not machine

So, I guess I am next with the sunroof track fail. Dealer just called and quoted me, wait for it...$2372. I just went out of warranty about 6 months ago and the truck only has 32k on it.

Reading other peoples post I am surprised I am getting quoted that much.

I'm really not a happy camper right now.

I have asked the service adviser to ask Ford to goodwill it and told him if they didn't I was going to pull the damn thing out in my driveway.

I am really disappointment in Ford's quality as of late, I hope Ford makes this right.

Another one with a broken sunroof here too. Went to open it and it stayed stuck open. Luckily I'm still under warranty and the dealer is taking care of it
