Default anyone notice with their truck?

I have a 2011 screw with angular step bars. Has anyone noticed how close they are positioned to the truck or are mine on wrong. I can barely get half of my foot on them when stepping up. Are they adjustable or is that the way they are. I had a 250 with step up bar and they were much further out from the truck. I have tried to post a pic on the site but cant seem to get it to upload. all comments are appreciated. TIA

I have noticed this too, and I also think they are slippery as well. I have fallen off them a couple of times.

I was thinking of getting them painted with a anti-slip coating or having linex put on.

They are pretty close. Haven't looked to see if they are adjustable or not. I actually like that they are close , helps protect the sides of the truck from dirt/rocks etc. better imho

I looked underneath bars and didn't see a way to adjust; however, it looks as if a new bracket which extended further away form the truck would do the trick. Though i wasnt looking to spend any $ on this. Also they are SLIPPERY AS ALL GET OUT!. I like the chrome look but maybe there is a nonstick applicant that can be applied to the black areas? If any has a solution/idea please pass it on.

There was a thread on this not long ago, including suggestions for sticky pads to attach to the steps. I don't know if anyone makes "extender brackets," but come Spring, I'll have my welder make me up some custom units. About 2 inches further from the truck would be great.

I moved mine out already with angle iron extender brackets. They are way too close to the truck body to use with any type of snow boot on your feet. I cut 4 pieces of 1.5" angle iron to 6" in length, drilled 3 holes in each centered at 1 15/16". removed running board from factory bracket and bolted extender piece to existing hole closest to truck, middle hole has bolt from running board through new bracket and existing factory bracket, and outer hole is just running board to new bracket. Hope that makes sense....I only did the drivers side.

I don't feel like mine are too close - plenty of dirt manages to come up through the inside of the step.

I'd love to see the details when this is done. My wife slipped on mine last night.

Good thing she's not a complainer.
I felt bad for her and would rather it didn't happen again.
