Default Anyone have any luck with iOS6 (iPhone 5) and Sync texting?

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS6 tonight and tried for about an hour to get texting to work without any luck.

iOS 6 now supports Bluetooth MAP profile, which means theoretically, the Ford Sync system should be able to read text messages from an iPhone.

Good news is Sync *thinks* it can send and receive messages. Before iOS 6, it would simply say it's not supported.

Bad news is if I try to send a message, Sync tells me it was sent, but the recipient never gets it. Also, if I try to download all messages, I get the message: "Error Downloading"

I've read on other forums where people are getting it to work with Sync, but I haven't found one where it involves an F150.

When I go to the phone page and press text messages on the screen I still get the message saying that my phone is not supported.

You have to delete the profile and re-link the phone, but that's all I know for now.

Do the notifications work now? I haven't had a chance to mess with it but sure would like it if it would alert when I have a text regardless of which media mode I'm in.

No luck here with 2012 EcoScrew. I get supported text now but no notifications or reading. If I say "read text" it says no content or something. In menu option shows up as Inbox having zero texts even though I have a new text waiting to be read. Sounds like f150 getting screwed.

No luck either, having the exact same symptoms as the OP. Even tried turning off iMessages thinking that might have something to do with it. One thing I've noticed is you cannot send a text while moving, it only shows it works when stopped. I would of hoped that you could of listened to a message and replied back by it using speech-to-text. It is definitely closer but still no dice.

Yup that's what I did and still no work. I kind of find it annoying that you can not reply to a text via voice or steering wheel button while driving. If I can only use text while stopped I might as well just use my own phone which would be much faster. Might as well just keep using SIRI. Now if only I can activate her with a remote button.

Yep otherwise you will get the phone is not support. I deleted my phone from my truck and also from the phone itself in the Bluetooth settings for Sync. Then paired it back. That is how you are able to finally start seeing the Text Messaging functionality but it doesn't actually function.....

If other brands of supported phones do work with the Ford Sync for texting, then does the issue really rely on Apple and how they implemented the Bluetooth MAP profile....maybe wasn't 100% done by industry standard?

FYI it has to be Apple, my Nokia Lumia 900 works great. And when driving, the phone takes over and reads the message to me and lets me reply via voice to text. I love it.
