Anyone Else Not Happy With the Sony Sound System?

I'm definitely surprised by the limited amount of max volume. After 20 years, my hearing hasn't diminished, so it's not that. I have a '14 with the Sony system. I went to turn it up and it was already at max. The sound quality is really good, I just wish it had a few more db's. I'm hesitant to turn up the phone Bluetooth voume output because past 80%, roughly, it introduces distortion.
Please accept my apologies for the thread revive. I linked in from a google search and didn't pay attention. I don't understand...I mean I've never seen a forum where there was no delete option, or I'd totally delete. I'm reporting my post, maybe mods will delete in time.

My Electronics package Mustang will blow the Sony away and I still turn the B/T all the way up on it also.
As for Thread revival, I think we have all done it at least once

I love my Sony system in my 2013. Just go to settings and tune the sound! base up and mid range down. The truck is thumping!

CDs function in basically the same way. Not that anyone uses them much anymore. But that's why some CDs were stupidly quiet or stupidly loud, they had incorrect (or at least: abnormal) instructions embedded, altering the volume. I had a few that were so bad, even the 'play all songs at the same volume' setting wouldn't help. So, when I ripped those songs to a computer, I used other software to alter their volume instructions so they would play normally.

I'm not claiming the Sony is anything great, I was ready to smash mine this morning. But no, that is not why you want it turned all the way up. It's not a volume control (potentiometer/resistor), you aren't sending electricity (amp) to a motor (speaker) when using bluetooth. You are sending digital instructions to the Sony. You want it turned up to max, because that is how digital music devices function. Many digital sources (iPhone) will automatically raise the volume level to max when using bluetooth or other digital outputs. If you lower it, you are simply instructing the actual system to play it wrong.

I do plan on changing the speakers, I did the Mustang with JBL GTO 8628 since they were one of the few 5X7 2 ohm speakers out there that were affordable
Now to figure out what the truck takes. Also it is Canadian so the HD radio is not there.

While I enjoy the SONY sound system in my 2013 F150, the front drivers speaker buzzes sometimes until I press on the speaker grill to stop the buzzing or distortion at mid to high volume level. I think it is air space between the grill backing and the front of the speaker is causing a vibration and will probably have to take the door panel off to fix it.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've had the problem for years now but keep procrastinating to take the door panel off.

I ended up replacing the subs with the Shelby units and it fixed it. Different reason but I did find a use for the detailing tows that got dropped on the floor.

I replaced all my speakers with Kenwood Excelons, packed my sub with poly-fil, and swapped out my head unit for a Sync3 setup giving me Apple CarPlay. I'm quite happy now.

I really enjoy mine. I came from the “regular” stock system in my 2014 to the Sony system in my 2013 and really hear the difference. I’m sure it does not turn heads of the young ladies like guys with big stereos may think they accomplish but I digress. It is a good sounding stereo.

I was very surprised with the increase in sound, by just buying the right speaker for the specific ohm's and watts.
Especially since the Sony's are a poly speaker. Heck, those Sony's are probably better than the kickers I put in my 05 in 2006.
