Default anyone else having this?

is anyone else having trouble with there center console lid staying closed in their xlt? mine is driving me absolutely nuts. It pops up when im driving and if i don't have my arm on it, itll flop open and hit me in the elbow. its very distracting not to mention starting to **** me off. is there an adjustment on this somewhere? im almost down to putting Velcro on it.

There's probably a way to adjust the little loop thingy. Just gotta get in there, and look at the options. Me, I would take it to the dealer, and let them take care of the problem.

I own a detailing business and run across this a lot. those plastic latches wear out over time and the stupid thing wont stay closed. I generally tell the customers there are 3 options: buy a new lid for big bucks, I'll make a new latch with a plastic welder, or we can just cut the spring with a pair of wire cutters.
If you cut the spring it won't pop up by itself anymore but it beats getting freaked out on the highway when you think someones popping out from behind the seat.

Wait - it's supposed to pop up on its own? (The lid that is - har har) Or are we talking about the lid on the center console unit vs. the lid on the jump seat?

Yeah the problem is securing the magnets. you could glue some rare earth magnets on the hidden sides of the plastic. home depot sells some small circle ones that may be strong enough. I've used them in making ipad mounts for vehicles - I just hate messing with epoxies and superglue.

Trade Ya. I'd be happy to deal with the lid issue to get a console
