They disable in a 13. I did it just because I like how the nannies get their pantys in a bunch that I did.

It's not disconnecting the airbags or pulling the pads off the brakes, it's just disabling the chime.

If it was a crime against humanity, Ford wouldn't tell u how to disable it in the manual.

I don't wear a seatbelt on my bicycle or my motorcycles, but I do in my truck. And when I'm driving on my land, I don't wear it. Sometimes I'm 2.5 to 3 mph. ( just kidding, my roads are good, I'll do 60+).

I am seeing some incredibly dangerous misinformation on this thread regarding low speed driving.

The next time you are driving in what you consider a controlled environment at low speed, have a look at your speedometer. I promise you that you will be driving at a considerably higher rate of speed than "a whopping 2mph".

Ever drive through a school zone? Of course you have. Think of how AGONIZINGLY SLOW 15 MPH feels. I bet you drive substantially faster than that when you think you are going super-slow.

Want to guess the lowest speed at which fatalities among unbelted vehicle occupants have been recorded?

12 MPH.

Read that again.

That is about the speed you would be going in a parking lot.

You don't need to take my word for it. Take a look at the "Seat Belt Convincer". This device replicates the forces the human body would experience in a impact at only 5-7 MPH.

So, disable your reminder chime if you really must, but don't fool yourself into thinking you are immune to damage at low speeds.

Oh, and just for giggles...if anyone at one of my worksites disabled his or her vehicle's warning chimes, we'd be spending some quality refresher safety training time together. And if I caught anyone with any tool, including those fancy eBay items, to disable or work around a safety device of any kind, they would spend some quality time with the administrator in something we call termination.

Something to think about.
How is it possible that a drunk health and safety person could be so annoyingly ironic?

I got my first new F150 today, and this was one of the first things I did. I hate things that chime at me. Got it first time. Thanks original poster. DO I have to do it on the passenger side to delete it there as well?

Thanks again

Yes the driver and passenger sides have to be done separately.

The procedure worked fine on the '06, never could get it to work on the '09 or the '12. Dealer service manager says that sometimes they have trouble too.

My suggestion is change the speed at which you plug and unplug. DO NOT hold the button down, plug it in, let it click, say 1 1000, press the button, say 1 1000, repeat.

I had the same problem thinking my wasn't working because it wasn't giving a confirmation flash of the seatbelt light but after getting angry found out that it did work I just never tested to see if the chime was off, have you tested it to make sure?
