If that's the case then I suspect it wont be too much of a wait for an aftermarket kit to surface for us poor folk. I could see a LS being a better choice than a full locker without a solid axle swap. Just my .02

The Raptor has different half shafts. 33 vs 28 spline IIRC. I'd rather have an LS than a locker anyways

I have to agree. LS- most of the benefits, none of the pitfalls. I only have to add it to the front though
Off the top of your head do you know what the power split is on these LS differentials?

You can upgrade your rear too, I'll even take the old one off your hands

And I have no clue, I've never really dealt with them. Unfortunately all of my pickups have been open diff. Not the next one, that's for sure

If I decide to upgrade you'll be the first to know

Thought I would bump one time. For what it's worth, for myself it would be a "just to have it" mod. I'm sure I would never need it, or if so I should have a f250 or something beefier. I also don't "need" my rear locker and have never used it, but for some reason I smile every time I see that option on my 4x4 ****. Better to have and not need!

The 2011 and up 4x4 s with open diffs use electronics and the ABS system to effectively make the front and rear act like limited slip, but with better results, from what I have seen in both the sand and the mud. I see absolutely no need for having mechanical limited slip clutch packs when the electronic version works better.

Just make sure your traction control is off, so that only the two wheel slip is still active.

Can you explain why tie rods wound be needed? They are part of the steering. I can understand half shafts being under more load.

With both front tires locked together they want to go straight. The more traction they have the more they fight the steering. That is why the tie rods need to be stronger.
