I have no problem with 5.4 here. My last F150 was a '98 with the 4.2 V6, so the 5.4 was quite a bit of an upgrade for me. More than happy with it.

Yeah I'm good. No complaints to date.

I was tempted when the EB came out but the real world MPG of that engine left something to be desired IMO. More power would be nice but I have an M3 for kicks so I'm fine with the 5.4, it's a no-fuss low-down torque big V8, well suited for a truck, certainly not state of the art but notice how few threads about (the current) 5.4 problems there are

my buddy Jared has the 54 in his Platinum and I like it. Not that powerful but smooth and quiet but mean sounding at the same time. Seems like an OK engine to me. Don't know what all the fuss is about

No problems here. It does what I ask it to do. Get about 16-17mpg on average. I don't think that's bad for Screw 4x4.

I love my 5.4. It's older technology. However, with a 4.17 inch crankshaft stroke! It's begging to be modded. I love the power-band in this engine. Everyone says "its smooth". Thats because the torque kicks in nice and low and continues. 5.4 don't need to be revved to make power.

Love mine. Puts the grunt down low where I need it, smooth and sounds great when I jump on it.

This is my first Ford and other than the tranny issue (mine was built at the Dearborn Plant) I am very happy with my truck. Love the engine, makes plenty of power and sounds so bada%* with the duals. I have not driven a new one, so I do not have anything to compare it to, but the 5.4 has been awesome so far.
