Hate to burst your bubble Tex, but the 5.0 in truck form is far from slow and will out perform the 5.4 with proof. Some quick facts;

0-60 unloaded:

2009 F150 XLT 5.4 4x4= 8.96 seconds.
2011 F150 XLT 5.0 4x4= 7.18 seconds.

0-60 loaded:

2009 F150 XLT 5.4 4x4 w/ 6,500# trailer= 17.00 seconds.
2011 F150 XLT 5.0 4x4 w/ 9,000# trailer= 16.85 seconds.

1/4 mile unloaded:

2009 F150 XLT 5.4 4x4= 16.96 @ 85.91 mph.
2011 F150 XLT 5.0 4x4= 15.53 @ 92.85 mph.

Those are the facts, it seems the 5.0 is not as slow as the picture you paint. Don't forget the 5.0 is the 4.6's replacement motor as is the 3.5 to the 5.4!

damn this forum is always 5.4 vs 5.0 vs ecoboost vs 6.2! we all drive f150's, and they're all great trucks. why the hell is everyone always competing for better motor? they're all good in their own way.

I wholeheartedly agree! I love my truck. I think the F150 is the sweetest truck on the planet. Even if the Ford Motor Company came out tomorrow and said the engine in my truck is the slowest they ever made, I'D STILL LOVE IT!!!!!!

Amen brother. i was so sick of everyone telling me to get this that and the other. your stupid if you buy this or that. sheesh. i love my 5.0 motor however i feel i would love the eco boost or 5.4 as well. the f-150 is awesome no matter what is pushing it down the road.

I just test drove the 5.0L! it feels just like my 5.4L! it was a let down! Seriously thou it was... now the eco-boost that's the engine to get. So Ur paper facts don't hold true to me and real world test driving.and yes i hot rodded the truck before u ask.

i thought the 5.0 was the replacement for the 5.4 the 3.7 was the replacement for the 4.6 and the ecoboost was a whole new animal all its own.
