Any way to open hood from outside?
Curious If this is possible? Like if my trucks locked can you pop the grill somehow from outside? Curious because if so I want to rig up something to lock my retrofits to the header panel. Expensive headlights and I want to protect them.

Yuke, you can absolutely get the hood of a newer F150 open from outside the grille! I showed my local dealer, and he was shocked! Long screw driver (any flavor), a flick of the latch, and you're in (or the creep is who is trying to do something bad)

It looks like a good idea, and i may consider this as well. If you have the factory alarm, then you should also have a hood switch. So the alarm would sound if the truck is locked, and the hood was popped open.
I'm not saying you shouldn't do things to defeat the would be thug. I think this would be a great addition to the factory alarm as well. I think there is something similar for the drivers door lock cylinder too. Have heard of F150s with the lock cylinder punched out, and the thugs gain access that way too.

Yes they have a hood switch. It is located on the drivers side of the engine bay. It's on the edge of the fender by the coolant reservoir. It's a pressure switch covered by a rubber boot.
