Any regrets on the 5 1/2' bed

5.5 ft is plenty for my daily needs. But if I need just a little space ... here it is:
If I need more than this I have a large closed racing box trailer I can use.

If I could have gotten this truck in an 8' bed I would have (last 2 trucks were 8'). That being said, the 6.5' really does not add much capacity over the 5.5' for my purposes, I understand it is 1 foot longer, but if I can't throw a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back with the tailgate closed, it just doesn't matter. Therefore I chose the 5.5' for drive-ability, my last two trucks could not be parked in the garage and at times were difficult to maneuver.
Bottom line: My 5.5' fits almost anywhere, turns much sharper and can tow my utility trailer if I need more cargo room. No regrets!

On more meds than ymeski
When I was first looking for a new truck I didn't care for the look of the 5'5" bed but now I think it is the best looking choice for the SCREW. As for usability; my old 2500 Chebby with an 8' bed was nice for hauling hay but since I have an enclosed V-nose now I really have no reason for a longer bed. It holds my 4 wheeler with the tailgate down and, to the horror of some diehards, has ample room for my WalMart/Commissary/garage sale needs.
I bought this as an alternative to a 5 seat minivan. It gives me the same mileage and more seat room with better storage as a Dodge minivan plus can tow a bunch more. If I were a big time farmer I could see the need for an 8' bed again but the difference between the 5 and 6 is so small that it really boils down to aesthetics and garage/parking issues.

i at times wish i had the longer bed so i could close the tailgate when hauling motorcycles...however, it hasn't limited me at all to this point so that's really not an issue.
i already think this thing drives like a school bus (came from a regular cab, short bed chevy) so I can't imagine how hard it is to park and maneuver the 6.5' box on the super crew.
I am glad that the truck can (barely) fit in my garage - the 6.5' bed it would have been impossible
so, an occasional regret - but really it's a non issue.

Ok, I've changed my mind. Used it to move some 6 foot armoires and had to do it with the tailgate down. And while the tailgate step was kinda nice, the stupid pole thing wouldn't let me slide stuff across the tailgate. I wish I had the step, but there was no stupid pole
